We’re really excited to be starting 2021 with a fantastic opportunity for someone to join our team through the Government’s KickStart Scheme. The Research and Communications Officer post is a paid six-month placement for someone currently registered with the Job Centre, who is actively looking for work, aged between 18 and 24.

This exciting role will provide the opportunity to explore:
· The not-for-profit and Charity sector; how it functions and differs to the Commercial and Public sectors.
· Marketing strategy and management
· Social media and web design
· Using Canva and basic graphic design
· Research and generating reports for a variety of audiences

For 25 hours a week, the successful candidate with work with the small Junction Point team remotely from home. A laptop will be provided for use during the placement. Whilst we are a small team, everyone at Junction Point is committed to providing a positive experience with the hope that this experience might result in continuous employment with us or provide the platform for continuous career progression.

This is equally a hugely exciting opportunity for Junction Point as it will allow us to develop our reach further by having a dedicated person working on research and communication. Without the KickStart programme, we would be waiting a further year before creating this role. The new team member will join in the pursuit of Junction Point’s vision: ‘a thriving community of sustainable Organisations making a positive difference in the world’.

If this sounds like an opportunity you’d like to explore further, please speak with your Job Centre work coach and ask them about this vacancy. We are accessing this programme through the Reviving the Heart of the West End gateway which means full career support will be available to you to plan beyond this placement to get you to where you want to be. If you’re passionate, proactive and have a positive attitude to learning, we really want to hear from you. We have suggested candidates should have a degree or equivalent.
